Hey there everyone!
It's me, Caroline! Yeah, I got the first blog post. Big deal, Mr. Brookhart thought that if I got to do the first post that I'd forget he still owes me $20.00.
.....
But, it's better than nothing.
I'm going to cover the whole 33 hours that we spent running through airports, checking our bags, sitting on god-awful planes and just trying to survive. (This is coming from a 16 year old girl who got only an hour of the sleep the entire time... you were warned)
Overall, we took a total of 3 flights. First two airline companies were British Airways (which, I might add, if awesome-er than Frontier by far. 45+ new movies available and free! Plus, food was actually not that bad) The last one took the shortest time, but it still had the same effect of 'THANK GOD!!! I'M FREE!!! FREE!!!' when you get off the plane.
The airports are also totally out of this world. In London, it's like a mall itself, there's barely any evidence that it's a airport. Heck, they even had a Gucci store (huge!) next to our terminal. The food there is so weird, too... but then again, all foreign food is. (Not to mention crying kids...on the second flight NO ONE could sleep)
Airport security was scary, too. Not only did they make us run around for no reason (just ask any of us, it was a nightmare dealing with them) they carried HUGE HUGE, i mean HUGE guns around, like, MK-47 and bigger guns. It was really really really scary. (And bad***)
In India, all the people drive like they do in the Bahamas, but 10x worse (yup...it's that bad) Already our group has seen some pretty cool things - monkeys included (so cute!)
All craziness aside, we are all now here at the monastary (pretty sure I spelled that wrong) in Katmandu. Also I say on behalf of everyone here that we miss you, and to send more money.
(We apologize for not getting pictures on my awesome blog, but whoever posts next should get some pics of us up on here)
Oh Wow!! So happy to hear that you are all there sleepless, but safe and happy to be there taking in monkeys and meditating! So, so great to hear from you!! Hoping to see pictures soon!! Big LOVE to Russell!! We are so proud of all of you!! The Wahlberg's
